Wicked and technology start-up, Make it Social, have just launched the West End’s first ever Social Booking Service to make it easier than ever before for groups of friends and family to book tickets to see this critically acclaimed show. It’s really simple, book seats for everybody but pay individually.

The Make it Social user experience is designed to give social groups the most enjoyable and hassle-free booking experience where users reserve all the tickets they need for friends but each group member pays individually.
It’s nice when something new works surprisingly well, isn’t it? We knew our latest partnership with The Kia Oval would, but for clients, new marketing and sales methods can feel like trial and error. In spite of any cast iron plan in place and anticipated outcomes – essential for any marketing activity – it’s only as good as the new sales channel you implement.
So when one of our latest clients – hallowed home of international test cricket and Surrey Cricket Club, The Kia Oval – signed on to managing group bookings in partnership with us, they were delighted with the increase in group bookings that derived from one link on their website and organic web traffic alone.
Groups of sports fans throughout the UK can book tickets easily and securely using the industry’s latest technology, thanks to a new partnership between Make it Social and Ticketmaster Sport. To begin with, several cricket matches at The Kia Oval will be available for group booking. Tickets are available from today and we are looking forward to additional teams and stadiums offering our simple and secure group booking experience.
This weekend, Eddie and I were busy getting to know some awesome and disruptive hackers. Tnooz’s IATA THack roadshow in Hamburg gathered over 60 hackers who worked in 17 teams to create innovative airline and travel industry products. Some of the solutions felt as if they were straight out of the future! During the two day THack, participants got to play with IATA’s next-generation NDC-compliant APIs for airline shopping and related travel services.
We successfully debuted our Make It Social API in front of this international crowd of hackers. We have proven that our technology is compatible with GDS and NDC, as well as with the systems of the other APIs available to the hackers: Hotelbeds, Jet Messaging Technologies, SITA, Airbus BizLab, IBM, HP, and Sabre.
We love a good hack – as our recent blog post demonstrates. We hosted our own hack in collaboration with Skyscanner at the start of the month in Edinburgh, and we’re continuing this creative theme by sponsoring the THack in Hamburg this weekend.
THack Hamburg runs from Friday 16th to Sunday 18th October. Diversely skilled developers will descend on the German city (try saying that after a trip to the Brauhaus!) for the chance to innovate with the freshest APIs in travel, and for the chance to win cash prizes with a total value of US $10,000+.
