The Modern Group Booking

How many group bookings do you make on an average month in your company? What’s your average booking size? Have these figures gone up or down over the past few years?

In the majority of cases, the average booking size will have gone down. It’s probably around the 2–3 mark. The amount of group bookings you’re getting has probably dropped too. Perhaps you’re considering removing the ‘groups’ tab/team.

What you don’t realise though is that your ‘Group Booking’ number is actually likely to have gone up.

A family/couple is looking to book a holiday/activity/event together. Because the most important thing for this customer is that they sort themselves out, they book for themselves but are now interested in inviting other families along to share the fun as well.

A booking is made. Perhaps for a family or a couple. They are content and excited. They talk about their booking around the dinner table later that week. Their friends express an interest to come. They try and share the details but perhaps too many drinks were consumed or it just proves too difficult and the other groups don’t join. The company is missing out and they don’t even know it!

This is a user interface update. The most obvious thing you’ll see straight away, is the design. It’s now much sleeker and all about guiding the customer through the process of booking as a group, with as little friction as possible. But apart from that there are 3 major feature updates. I’d like to explain what we’ve done, and why we’ve done them… here we go:

That’s why we’ve developed Make it Social – to modernise the process. This blog series highlights the 4 ways you can use our technology to capture group bookings.

 1. The button

The button sits on a webpage alongside the old school ‘book now’ button and it is the Continue reading How Make it Social Captures Group Bookings – 1 of 4
